ونشر الربيعي صورتين للراحل على حسابه في تويتر، شارحاً أن الأولى التقطت في الشارقة سنة 2019، أما الثانية فكانت قبل توجهه لتلقي علاجه الكيمياوي الأخير.

لكن المفارقة أن “كريم عودة” وهو اسمه الأصلي، بدا وكأن ابتسامته لم تتغير، ولم يكسرها المرض.
وكانت نقابة الفنانين العراقيين أعلنت بوقت سابق، اليوم الجمعة، وفاة أشهر كتّاب القصيدة الشعبية الغنائية العراقية، خارج البلاد عن عمر ناهز 68 عاما متأثرا بإصابته بمرض عضال، فيما نعته باقة كبيرة من الكتاب والفنانين والمثقفين العراقيين والعرب عامة.
واشتهر العراقي بتأليف كلمات المئات من الأغاني، حيث تعاون مع كبار المطربين، أمثال حسين نعمة وسعدون جابر ورضا الخياط.
كما شكل ثنائيا ناجحا مع كاظم الساهر الذي ألف له نحو 70 أغنية.

كما يُعد العراقي الذي بدأ مسيرته الفنية بكتابة أغاني الأطفال مطلع السبعينات، واحداً من أهم كتّاب أدب الأطفال في العراق في مجال السيناريو والقصص والمسرحيات المخصصة للأطفال. وفي رصيده أيضاً عدد من الدواوين والألبومات الصوتية.
ولد في بغداد عام 1955، وحصل على دبلوم علم النفس وموسيقى الأطفال من معهد المعلمين في بغداد، ثم عمل معلما في مدارس العاصمة لعدة سنوات.
